Meditation and Pain Relief

The mind-body connection is powerful. 

Recognizing and retraining our automatic thought and behaviors associated with pain can change out perception of pain.

The parasympathetic nervous system is the "rest and digest" part of our nervous system that allows our body to experience a sense of calm and well being. By practicing with mindfulness and meditation, we can shift our nervous system out of the "fight or flight" mode (aka the sympathetic nervous system) and allow the body to start healing.
